Spirit Week was an absolute blast! Our students brought the energy every single day—getting cozy in their comfiest outfits for Comfy Day, dreaming big on Future Self Day, and showing off their creative looks on Hat Day. The school lit up with color on Class Colors Day, and we wrapped up the week with Southwood pride and excitement on School Spirit Day!

It’s always so fun to see our students' creativity, enthusiasm, and school pride shine.

Have a great weekend, Panthers — and go Mariners!!

What a Fun Friday at Southwood! We kicked off the day with Popcorn Friday during lunch recess and a fun game of football with Mr. Bwanika for anyone who wanted to join. Students also got to enjoy a cozy Movie Day during lunch — always a favorite! At our Panther Pride Assembly, the Safety Patrol was officially sworn in, and the Hero Team wowed us with a skit all about our October skill of the month: Responsibility. We also celebrated last month’s award recipients for demonstrating Respect, our September skill of the month. And the highlight of the day? Mr. Means was taped to the wall AND our students got to dress him up to celebrate reaching their Read-a-thon goal! Way to go, Panthers! And there’s more — because our Panthers went above and beyond in the Read-a-thon, they’ll be celebrating later this month with a giant inflatable slide during school as a special reward for all their hard work! What a fantastic Friday, Panthers — have a great weekend!

What an AMAZING day at our Share Fair yesterday!

Our students truly blew us away with their incredible projects — they put so much thought, creativity, and time into their work, and it showed in every detail. Yesterday, they had the chance to present their projects to their peers, and the excitement in the room was real!

It was heartwarming to see how proud they were to share what they had learned, and just as wonderful to see their classmates being so supportive, and encouraging.

We are so proud of our young thinkers, creators, and presenters. Way to go, Panthers!!

A big shoutout to the 7 classrooms who hit today’s target and earned their teachers a well-deserved coffee AND a special visit from Uni, Dino, and Zebra! The excitement was real!

More coffee deliveries and magical visits are coming TOMORROW… and there’s still plenty of time for other classes to reach their goals this week. Let’s keep reading and make it all the way to the top!

Earlier this week our students had a blast during Maker Space Monday in Media class! It was amazing to see them exploring, building, and creating while practicing persistence and problem solving working toward their Learning Targets: "I can keep going when something doesn’t go my way." and "I can find new approaches."

Way to go, makers! Keep imagining, building, and learning!
